Will Gochnour, CFP®

Senior Financial Advisor

Hi, I’m Will Gochnour, CFP®, a Financial Advisor at Dentist Advisors. I help dentists and practice owners feel confident and clear about their finances, from cash flow and student loans to long-term investing, tax planning, and the major decisions that come with practice ownership and growth.

My mission is simple. I want to help dentists trade stress for clarity and build a plan that supports the life and practice they truly want. Your finances should empower you, not weigh you down.

I chose this profession because money touches nearly every decision we make, yet most people don’t feel comfortable talking about it. I’ve seen how financial uncertainty can create anxiety and cause people to miss opportunities, especially when life is already busy with patients, staff, and the everyday pressures of running a practice. I became an advisor to help people experience the other side of that. I love helping clients see money as a tool that brings confidence and possibility rather than pressure.

The relationships are what keep me passionate about this work. Talking with clients never feels like a transaction. It feels like talking with friends who want stability, freedom, and a future built with intention. My favorite moments are when a client leans back after a meeting and says, “That finally makes sense. I feel like I have a handle on this.” When someone reaches that point, I know I’ve done something meaningful.

I’ve been a financial advisor for eight years, all with Dentist Advisors. I graduated from the University of Utah and later completed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation from the College for Financial Planning. Clients often describe me as calm, grounded, and easy to talk to. I try to simplify complex decisions, listen well, and give clear guidance that stays aligned with what matters most to them.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and our five kids, traveling, cooking, staying active, and playing basketball or golf. I’m a big sports fan, so there is usually a game on in the background.

One of my favorite questions to ask clients is, “If money wasn’t a barrier, how would your life look?” The answers often reveal what truly matters, and those conversations are some of the best parts of my job.
